The Texarkana Texas City Council meets for their only regularly scheduled meeting for the month of November this Monday evening November 13th at 6pm at Texas side City Hall.

Other Scheduled Events
The Employee Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at the Texarkana Convention Center from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The CPKC Holiday Train is scheduled to arrive at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29th at the downtown 4th Street railroad crossing east of Lelia Street. This stop will showcase a holiday concert that will begin at 4:45 p.m. for all to enjoy.

The annual Bramlett Beans and Cornbread Luncheon will be held Thursday, December 7th at the Texarkana Convention Center from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

TXK 150 Celebration
On Friday, December 8th Texarkana, USA will begin celebrations burying a Sesquicentennial Time Capsule and have a Light Sculpture Reveal at the downtown Post Office/Courthouse Square beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Later in the evening, a Texarkana Symphony Orchestra Performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Perot Theatre for tickets.

VI. OPEN FORUM: COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Per Council rules, comment time is limited to five minutes, or ten minutes if using a translator. Before comments are made, a speaker must complete an information sheet and give to the City Secretary. If your comment pertains to an agenda item with a scheduled public hearing or public comment, the Council requires that you make your comment at that time; you do not need to complete an information sheet.

Resolution No. 2023-141 authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract for the TxDOT Hwy 82 Widening from US 259 to IH 30 Relocate Water Transmission Main Project in an amount not to exceed $405,157. Funds are available in the Utility’s 2023-2024 budget in the Lake Texarkana Water Supply Corporation Capital

2. Resolution No. 2023-146 setting the 2024 City Council meeting dates and official city holiday closings. Public Hearing: Council Vote: November 13, 2023

3. Resolution No. 2023-147 authorizing the City Manager to execute a memorandum of understanding regarding staff providing fire and emergency services to the Federal Correctional Institution. Public Hearing: Council Vote: November 13, 2023

4. Resolution No. 2023-150 casting all 729 cumulative votes for Council Member Jay Davis for membership on the Bowie Central Appraisal District’s Board of Directors to serve for the 2024-2025 term. Public Hearing: Council Vote: November 13, 2023

Resolution No. 2023-153 authorizing the City Manager to purchase property located at 215 Pine Street in the amount of One Hundred Fifty-two Thousand Six Hundred Forty-four Dollars and Seventy-five Cents ($152,644.75), including closing costs with funds budgeted in the Economic Development Fund (Fund 223) for a
