This is LaShondra Tyson and Sarah Jackson. Officer Tyson and Officer Jackson were hired in the early part of 2020. They both attended the three-month Basic Police Academy in Camden, Arkansas. They did an excellent job there and graduated in the latter part of 2020. After completing the basic police academy, they returned to TAPD, where they began the four-month Field Training Program. They were assisted by seasoned Field Training Officers and under the direction of Field Training Sergeant Chris King. This is a comprehensive and intensive training program that gives recruits hands on training and the knowledge they need to become an officer at TAPD. This training puts them through different shifts, with different officers, and allows them to learn each aspect of police work. During that time, Officer Tyson and Officer Jackson also participated in some amazing community functions, which gave them the chance to meet people and introduce themselves.

The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is very grateful to have the addition of these two officers at the agency. Not only will the agency be better, but we believe the community will benefit as well by having Officer Tyson and Officer Jackson in our TAPD family. Both Officer Tyson and Officer Jackson are assigned to the Patrol Division Charlie Squad, under the great leadership of Sgt.Tom Briggs and Sgt. Lloyd Douglas. If you see Officer Tyson and Officer Jackson in the community, please help us in extending our congratulations or just introduce yourself and say hello!!
