The Texarkana Texas City Council meets tonight (Monday January 23rd) starting at 6pm at City Hall. Some rezoning will be considered.

Here is the complete agenda from the City:

The City Council reserves the right to convene into closed session on any agenda item or issue if
applicable pursuant to authorization by the Texas Open Meetings Act (Title 5, Chapter 551 of the
Texas Government Code), and will reconvene into open session before taking any final action,
decision, or vote on a matter deliberated.

Downtown Chili Cook-off

The Texarkana Homeless Coalition will host a Chili Cook-off on Friday, January 27th. It will
be held at 316 Hazel Street, Texarkana, Arkansas, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is
free. The cost to register and enter some chili is $25.00. Raffle tickets will be available for $5.00.
All proceeds will be used to coordinate homeless services and fund scholarships. Have some
fun and come dressed in your best 80’s getup! For more information, call Vashil Fernandez at
