The Texarkana Texas Police Department says two teens were arrested for allegedly breaking into some vehicles in a neighborhood and apartment complex.

Here is the Press Release from TTPD:

We and the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office are investigating several vehicle burglaries near the Arista Apartments after 17 year old Keyni Williams and a 16 year old juvenile were arrested overnight for fleeing from officers.
We responded to the area to assist a BCSO deputy after he was dispatched to a neighborhood off of Moores Lane, which is just outside the city limits, at 1:00 this morning. The 911 caller said that they’d seen three men trying to get into vehicles there and that they were now walking toward the apartment complex.
Lieutenant Jeremy Courtney and Officer Dustin Johnson were the first to arrive and quickly located two of the men inside the complex. When they saw the officers, they both took off running and managed to disappear into the darkness. However, while still looking for those two, Officer Johnson noticed Williams getting out of a car in the parking lot. Williams also tried to run away but we caught him pretty quickly after he ran along a creek and tried to hide in a wooded area along McKnight Road.
Just minutes after Williams was arrested, Sergeant D.E. Evans found a juvenile sweating profusely and laying down on the ground behind a business in the 3300 block of Richmond Road. While he initially tried to tell Sgt. Evans that two unknown men had just tried to rob him, his story quickly fell apart when Officer Johnson identified him as one of the original two guys who ran from him and we found property in his pockets that we were able to trace back to a vehicle that had just been broken into.
Both were arrested and charged with Evading Arrest. Williams was transported to the Bi-State Jail, and the juvenile was taken to JDC. A judge set Williams’ bond at $10,000 this morning. We expect additional charges related to the vehicle burglaries will be added for both soon.
We weren’t able to locate the owners of all the vehicles last night that we believe might have broken into. We left business cards on several. If you live in that area and your vehicle was burglarized overnight, please let us know so we can hopefully get your property that was stolen back to you and update the charges appropriately for these guys.
