A big time National Art Award is coming to a Senior at Pleasant Grove High School.
Here is a Press Release from PGISD:
The National Art Education Association has selected Pleasant Grove High School senior Ruby Rehkopf for the 2023 Rising Stars Secondary Recognition Program Award. This prestigious award recognizes talented and active members of the National Art Honor Society. It is awarded based on a peer review of nominations. Ruby will receive her award at the NAEA National Convention in Minneapolis, MN, from March 4-7, 2023.
Each year, this award is given to one visual arts student from across the country. The selection is based on an art portfolio, academic performance, an essay, and recommendation letters. The chosen portfolios showcase not only technical skill but also creativity and innovation. Ruby’s portfolio represents some of the best work nationwide.
“Ruby is highly deserving of this award and honor. She is exceptionally talented and motivated to excel” said Pleasant Grove High School Art Teacher Nicole Brisco. “Ruby has consistently grown in the area of drawing, painting, and design. She is innovative and pushes herself in and out of the studio. NAEA has selected an outstanding representative for this national honor.”
