In observance of 2021 Memorial Day at the end of May, there will be four different Memorial Day ceremonies in the Texarkana area. So much was given for us to enjoy the liberties we take for granted.
1- Sunday, May 30 at Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm on Hwy 67 East, out past the airport. Hosted by Memorial Gardens and the Texarkana Area Veterans Council, and will begin at 2:00 pm.
2- The 38th Annual Memorial Day Walk will take everyone to the Korea/Vietnam Memorial, where we, Vietnam Veterans of America # 278, will host the following service at approximately 11:45 am. You might want to bring lawn chairs.
3- May 31 at 2:00 pm, the Texarkana Funeral Home will host a service at Hillcrest Cemetary.
If you cannot attend these services, the National Moment of Remembrance will be observed at 3:00 pm, local time, all across America. Please take a moment and remember those that gave their lives so that we may enjoy the freedoms and liberties we have. Pause and remember how much they gave.
