A tragic shooting in Texarkana Arkansas has resulted in two deaths, including a child and another family member hospitalized.Here is a Press Release from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department:
Update: On today’s date, Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is releasing the names of the victims and suspect involved in the 11/6/23 shooting incident at 2501 Glendale. Emerie Gailey age 4 months deceased, female victim, Janie Gailey age 19, and suspect, Preston Gailey age 27 deceased. A Beretta 9mm handgun was
recovered at the scene. The mother, Janie, was airlifted to Little Rock with critical injuries. It was discovered there was a domestic violence incident earlier this year in September, that resulted in TAPD officers arresting Preston Gailey.On November 6, 2023 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Texarkana Arkansas Police received a 911 call advising of a shooting at 2501 Glendale. The caller advised the wife and child had been shot by the husband on scene. Arriving officers were told that the suspected shooter had barricaded himself inside with the victims.
Patrol officers forced entry into the residence to find an adult male, adult female, and a small child suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The adult male
and the child were deceased. The adult female was still alive and transported to the hospital by LifeNet. Names of the victims are being withheld until next of kin are notified.
