Sunday, October 10th, starting at 5:00 am until approximately noon, expect traffic delays on westbound I-30 east of Richmond Road to the west of University Avenue in Texarkana. The Texas Department of Public Safety will be closing I-30 westbound lanes to investigate an accident that occurred earlier this year. This investigation will cause westbound traffic to be stopped periodically throughout the morning. I-30 W could be stopped for 15 minutes at a time. DPS will reopen the lanes to allow traffic to clear and then block traffic to continue their investigation. We have alternate route suggestions from the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

TxDOT will close all entrance ramps to I-30 along St. Michael Drive (westbound frontage road) will be closed in the area between the Tourist Information Center and Pavilion Parkway for the whole time they are out there.
Eastbound traffic will not be affected by any of this.
We suggest that you exit onto St. Michael Drive if you’re headed west to avoid getting caught up in any of these stoppages. You will be able to get back on I-30 at the ramp west of University Drive. If you need to go south on Jarvis Parkway toward 59 South, just go up the turnaround bridge at University Avenue.
