La Fonda Whitworth Clough has been a nurse serving the Texarkana area for over 32 years. Mrs. Clough has dedicated most of her career to helping her peers and keeping our community healthy at the Texarkana Bowie County Health Clinic. Yesterday was an exciting yet bittersweet day for Mrs. Clough as she merged into retirement. We visited with her, and we’d like to share the video and podcast of the interview. In the fire service we are called to help and take care of people. Today, we want to recognize someone who helps take care of us. We want to congratulate LaFonda Clough, our Employee Health Nurse for the City of Texarkana Texas, on her retirement. For 32 years every firefighter who joined our ranks went through Lafonda for processing. Over the years she poked and prodded us during our yearly physicals, gave us more shots than we could count, and put a smile on our faces the entire time she was doing it! Going to see her would never feel like it was an appointment, but rather a visit with a friend. We are proud to say that the members of Local 367 have extended an Honorary Membership to LaFonda. We wish you the very best in all your endeavors and thank you for your service and dedication to the employees of The City of Texarkana Texas and your Texarkana Texas Firefighters.
