Today we sprang forward with dreaded annual “Daylight Savings” time change. Instead of focussing on the lost sleep this morning and the difficulties adjusting our internal body clock let’s use this annual event to make sure our family and home are safe.

Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm:

Verify your smoke alarm is in working order.
Is it over ten years old or you don’t know be safe and replace it.
Make sure you swap out the batter for a new one.
Review with your family what to do in case of a fire.

Prepare for Tornado Season:

Do a Tornado drill with your family.
Write a family communication plan.
(Verify Torado preparedness at work and develop an actionable plan)
