On December 27, 1972, Captain Ronald W. Forrester navigated an A-6A Intruder and his pilot during a nighttime combat mission over northern Vietnam. After entering the target area, Forrester’s aircraft ceased radio communications and never returned to base. Search and rescue teams could not locate any trace of the plane or the crew.

In September 1978, the Marine Corps changed Capt—Forrester’s initial Missing In Action status to Killed in Action. Cpt Forrester’s remains were identified on December 4, 2023.

The funeral for Capt. Forrester will be at Arlington National Cemetery this summer. Captain Forrester’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in Texas for friends and family to come together in his honor after over 50 years of waiting for his return from the Vietnam War.

The family will be streaming the service for those unable to come. A link will be provided before the service. We ask that you visit here to RSVP for the big event! https://captronaldwforrester.rsvpify.com
