Did you hear that Federal agents have seized 68 lions, tigers, and other big cats from the Oklahoma animal park featured in the Netflix documentary series Tiger King? The documentary was almost unbelievable with the antics and unusual characters.
To add to the drama, Joseph Maldonado-Passage, who was “Joe Exotic,” Joseph is now a guest for22-year at a federal prison sentence after being convicted for federal wildlife violations and a bizarre murder-for-hire scheme.
An affidavit says the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has conducted three inspections at the park since December to check on the animals’ welfare.
The document says inspectors found that the animals were receiving a nutritionally deficient diet, inadequate and untimely veterinary care, and insufficient shelter from the weather.
