We Remember PVT James W. Brown of Maud, Texas

USMC, Private James William Brown of Maud, Texas, proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a Rifleman. Unfortunately, on April 5th, 1966, PVT Brown disappeared as he attempted to cross the Rach La River during a combat mission. Air and ground search and rescue failed to locate our local hero. Please plan to honor our American heroes who paid the ultimate price for our freedom on May 30th, 2022, in Maud, Texas. PVT JAMES WILLIAM BROWN VIETNAM WAR UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS Unaccounted For Private James William Brown entered the U.S. Marine Corps from Maud, Texas, and was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. On April 5, 1966, he was a rifleman on a combat mission in South Vietnam. During the mission, he disappeared while attempting to cross the Rach La River in the vicinity of (GC) XS 980 737. Over two days search efforts by air and ground failed to locate him, and he remains unaccounted for. Today, Private Brown is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. JAMES W BROWN is on the Wall at Panel 6E, Line 84.
