Ways to Celebrate Earth Day and Every Day

Today is the 52nd annual Earth Day. This year’s theme is ‘Restore Our Earth.’ Usually, there are street parties and demonstrations, but this year the 2021 Earth Day can be celebrated virtually. We found some ways to reduce and reuse items around the house!

1-LEGO Replay

LEGO Replay is our way of helping fans donate bricks to kids in need. We’re currently trying it out in the United States. Just go to http://www.lego.com/replay, print out a shipping label, box up your bricks, and get them to your closest FedEx location.

For help finding a new location, visit https://www.fedex.com/en-ca/retail-locations/fedex-ship-centre-locations.html

2- Enjoy the Pink Supermoon on April 26

As rain, thunder, and wind storms continue throughout April, spreading seeds and life with it, we reminded of the power and endurance of our plant

3- Celebrate Earth Day with NASA

Earth Day 2021 (Thursday, April 22), NASA is hosting a virtual Earth Day event – from Wednesday, April 21, through Saturday, April 24 – focused on how to live more sustainably on our home planet and exploring the connections between Earth’s atmosphere, water cycle, forests, fields, cities, ice caps, and climate. The program – called #ConnectedByEarth – will feature live presentations by NASA scientists, conversations with astronauts and scientists working in space, videos, interactive science content, a kid-friendly fun zone, a scavenger hunt, hundreds of downloadable resources, and more. Some content will also be available in Spanish. Registration is free and open to the public—click register to participate here.

4- How to Celebrate Earth Day at Home | Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, RESTORE

  • Head out to the backyard, scope out a good location for a compost pile. Start recycling coffee grounds, eggshells, and scraps of food to ultimately decompose and enrich your garden for the upcoming growing season.
  • Take the weekend morning to scour your neighborhood for discarded plastics, cans, and bottles for a personal cleanup project to help the entire community.
  • Help in the Anti-Litter Campaign Kicks Off In Texarkana Area.
  • Walkthrough the neighborhood and teach your children the different types of plants, trees, and flowers.
  • Go to a local plant nursery and have your child pick out a couple of vegetables that grow well in a container. Use old plastic milk jugs as a container and enjoy helping your child grow something delicious and beautiful.
