Yes, we feel “the need for speed,” but TTPD warns us to slow our roll and open the law. We don’t all get to be like Top Gun’s Maverick and launch ourselves into next week! Today one of our finest officers clocked a driver going 122 miles per hour. All joking aside, we need you to get to your destination safely and ensure that others aren’t jeopardized by your lead foot.

No doubt that some of you saw Top Gun this weekend and are now feeling the inexplicable “need for speed”. However, please try to channel your inner Maverick while doing something else beside driving. One of our traffic officers clocked a vehicle going 122 mph this morning! Seriously? This is just plain stupid!! And dangerous!! And STUPID!!!Please slow down! Just so you know, we’re out there looking for those who don’t. We would much rather folks get their adrenalin fix by simply going back to see the movie again. You can take your whole family to see a movie (and probably buy them all popcorn and a drink) for a lot less than this speeding ticket is going to cost.BTW: If you’ve not yet seen Top Gun: Maverick, you’re definitely gonna want to. Just an opinion here, but it might be even better than the 1986 original.
