We are sad to report that bassist and secondary lead vocalist for ZZ Top, Joseph Michael “Dusty” Hill passed away today in his home in Houston, Texas. Dusty was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame back in 2004. “Dusty” was only 72 years old at the time of his passing. We know this has to be a devasting event for the band, the fans, and rock n roll as we know it.
“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’.
