Tonight area knife craftsman Jerry Fisk will be featured on the History Channel; tune in tonight, Tuesday, August 24th at 9:00 central for their show “Man vs. History,” Secret of the Bowie Knife. Jerry Fisk is featured on the program and demonstrates making a bowie from a meteorite just as James Black is rumored to have done. The filming was done in Historic Washington and also on James Black’s old homestead. Watch the really interesting video showcasing Fisk’s work and dedication to his craft.
Fisk, who was named a National Living Treasure in 1999, helped start the Arkansas Living Treasure program in 2002 by working with the Department of Arkansas Heritage and the Arkansas Arts Council.
