Randy Sams Outreach Center  is an organization with the motto “By the grace of god shelter the people.” Randy Sams offers our community a safety net for people whose life has thrown them a curveball and they have found themselves without a home or unable to provide a meal for their family. Please Randy Sams Outreach Program offers a Thanksgiving dinner and a glimmer of hope.

Look for the “DONATE” button at the bottom of this Facebook post (click here to go to original post):

Our Annual Thanksgiving Lunch to the area homeless and less fortunate is coming up, and we need your assistance! We are asking for food & related items or monetary donations (see specifics further below). It’s a long post, but please bear with me because it is to answer any questions you may have. 😀
Please either message us on here or call Lori, our fantastic kitchen manager, at 903-792-7024 if you plan to bring food items so she can keep a list of what is coming and how much.
We will provide boxed Thanksgiving meals and canned/bottled drinks outside that they can either take with them or eat (socially distanced) at tables set up outside, weather permitting. We aren’t asking for in-person volunteers to serve this year due to Covid. We will implement multiple protocols and supervise to ensure safety in accordance with CDC guidelines in all aspects of this process.

***Food and related items (deliver to 402 Oak):
Turkeys, hams, casseroles, canned items such as cranberry sauce, green beans, corn, yams, also desserts, salt, pepper, onions, bread, paper products, aluminum foil, 55-gallon trash bags, plastic wrap, plasticware, paper products (napkins, paper towels, etc.) medium and large-sized latex and serving gloves, bottled water, and canned sodas, and hand sanitizer, masks. Approximating 250 to feed. Any food-related item and food you would normally think of as being needed on Thanksgiving is what we need.

***Monetary donations: Mail to RSOS at 803 Spruce, Tex. TX 75501, or donate via Facebook button)

Even though DOTS is providing us with discounted tables and chairs (thank you!) for those who choose to eat on the outside premises, it will still cost money, as will any food-related items we don’t receive enough of that we may need to purchase.

Thank you to everyone willing to help out. Even though Covid has caused obstacles to work around this year, we want to ensure that those in need are still able to have the special experience of a Thanksgiving meal. And thank you to the City of Texarkana Texas and Mission Texarkana who are allowing us to block Oak St. and use Mission’s parking lot for tables and additional waiting in ine space.

If you have any questions, please either message us on Facebook, call Lori at 903-792-7024 for food questions, or contact the administration office for any other planning questions at 903-280-7549. Thank you! 🦃
