Join us as we support For The Sake of One provides much-needed to area foster children as they start school in August. We can give a child with their specific school supplies or a $100 Walmart Giftcard. For The Sake of One is a local nonprofit ministry in Texarkana that through “God’s love with local children and families by providing emotional, physical, and spiritual support while serving as a hub to connect, equip and empower all stakeholders in the child welfare community.” You can contact For The Sake of One on Facebook or their website.
For the Sake of One
Time has flown by and, somehow, it is that time of year again. It’s school supply time!Each year, we provide school supplies for all of the foster children in our area. We have looked up the supply list for each local child, so you will shop for an exact list from the school they will be attending. All high school students receive their lists on the first day of school, so we provide them with a $100 Walmart gift card to get their supplies. Also, due to our severe lack of foster homes in our area, a lot of kids are placed outside our region, such as Houston or Fayetteville. Case workers need to be able to easily mail their school supplies to them, so we provide $100 Walmart gift cards to all of these kids as well.
We do not have all of the lists ready yet, but we want to start handing out the ones we do have. Comment here or message us to let us know if you want to provide either a kids’ school supply list or $100 Walmart gift card for a child. If you attend a church that wants several lists to hand out, just let us know!
Supplies are due back to us by July 20th in order for the caseworkers to have enough time to get the supplies to all of the families before school starts.
