Early Morning I-30 Motor Vehicle Accident Details

This morning we reported on a very serious motor vehicle crash on Westbound I-30 at mile marker 220. Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash but have the road is open for public use. We have complete details about the accident to follow.

TEXARKANA- ON April 19, 2021, at approximately 4:29 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were called to a crash on I-30 near the 220-mile marker in Bowie County. Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Peterbilt truck tractor pulling a trailer was westbound on I-30 in a construction zone. The Peterbilt’s left front tire blew out causing the truck to strike a concrete barrier and part of the guardrail. The Peterbilt and trailer caught fire.

The driver was not injured. A female passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash scene clean-up is still ongoing at the time and traffic has been diverted to the service road. There is currently no estimate on the time to open the roadway.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information is currently available.
