Covid-19 Numbers Slow in Latest Update

Finally a day of better news when it comes to the Coronavirus in the Texarkana area.

After spiking most everyday for the past several weeks, new cases of Covid-19 seemed to take a break yesterday. At least with positive confirmed cases that local authorities are aware of.

The State of Arkansas says there are currently 139 active cases in Miller County that they are aware of and tracking.

Here is the latest update from the Bowie County Joint Emergency Operations Center in Texarkana, Texas:

Bowie County Emergency Operations Center reports 12 new cases since Monday, November 7, 2020 for a total of 2,280 positive COVID-19 cases, with 87 deaths. The Department of State Health Services has not updated their numbers yet today, so there are no further updates.

> Monday, DSHS reported 628 total cases in Cass County, with 516 of those recovered, and 31 fatalities.

> Through the end of the year, free testing will be offered Monday- Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Texarkana- Bowie County Family Health Center at 902 W. 12th Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. There are no requirements for testing (residency included), oral swab with results in 48-96 hours, and pre-registration available here.
