City Conducting Health Disparities Survey

Our Texarkana Bowie Country Family Health Center would like your participation in a short survey. The survey addresses your experiences with COVID-19 and related issues. This information will offer insight into the problems a pandemic can cause. We have complete details to follow.

TEXARKANA, TX- The Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center is conducting a health disparities survey to document various experiences with COVID-19 and related issues in our community, and to better prepare to address the problems that a pandemic can cause in the future.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, health disparities are defined as preventable differences in the burden of disease, injury, violence, and opportunities to achieve optimal health that are experienced by socially disadvantaged populations.

Health disparities can result from factors such as:
Poverty
Environmental Threats
Inadequate Access to Health Care
Individual and Behavioral Factors
Educational Inequalities
