Boil Water Advisory in Hope AR

Effective late last night a “Boil Water” notice has been issued for Hope, AR

Until further notice, Hope Water & Light (HWL) is under a Precautionary Boil Water Order that was issued last night 2/20/2021 for all HWL customers excluding the Oakhaven Area. The description of the affected area is better described as follows: “All of the Hope Water & Light water customers excluding the customers in the Oakhaven Area beginning at a point, known as the North Booster Station, on Hwy 32 located about 4,500 feet north of the intersection of Hwy 32 and Hempstead County Road 217 and continuing to the intersection of Hwy 32 and Hwy 278; all points west, north, and east.”

Under the Boil Water Order, all affected customers must be advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one (1) minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice. This Precautionary Boil Water Order will remain in effect until bacteriological sampling shows that the water is safe to drink.
